Location: Various client sites in Detroit, Michigan, with travel to Lansing and Grand Rapids, United States. Full-time onsite float position requiring work Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., two weekends per month, and flexibility for earlier or later client hours.
Salary: $20.25–$27.34 per hour, including float differential compensation.

What you will do
- Perform phlebotomy and collect blood and other laboratory specimens from infant, adult, geriatric, and wheelchair-bound patients.
- Provide post-phlebotomy care, identify medical assistance needs, and follow patient-safety procedures including two patient identifiers and hand hygiene.
- Label, process, transfer, and track specimens, requisitions, timed draws, charges, and test results according to established protocols.
- Maintain refrigerator temperature, quality-control and quality-assurance records, corrective-action logs, and equipment readiness.
- Obtain physician orders, enter laboratory tests into computer systems, and perform related clerical duties such as faxing, printing, filing, and releasing results.
- Travel to additional client sites as needed and communicate effectively with patients, client office staff, laboratory personnel, and coworkers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Phlebotomy certification through a nationally recognized organization, training from a phlebotomy school or medical institution, or at least one year of healthcare phlebotomy experience.
- Ability to travel to client sites in the Detroit metro area, Lansing, and Grand Rapids.
- Availability for Monday–Friday daytime hours and two weekends per month, with flexibility for variable client schedules.
- Ability to collect specimens from a broad range of patient types and maintain accurate, safe, and timely work.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and communicate professionally.
Nice to have
- Experience processing and transferring laboratory specimens and handling a centrifuge.
- Familiarity with medical EMR systems and medical terminology.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
