What you will do

• Provide direct patient care by obtaining vital signs, pain screens, heights, weights, and specimens.
• Perform phlebotomy and EKGs, assist nursing and medical staff with procedures, and support patient comfort needs.
• Record clinical information accurately in Epic and report abnormal findings or changes in patient condition.
• Transport patients, specimens, records, blood components, equipment, and supplies according to policy.
• Maintain patient flow, room assignments, medical supplies, equipment, and patient-care areas.
• Manage biomedical and chemotherapy waste, respond to emergencies, and monitor compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; college coursework is preferred.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or at least one year of relevant clinical experience; nursing students with two completed clinical rotations may also be considered.
• Two years of equivalent experience in a medical setting.
• Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy interdisciplinary environment with patients ranging from young adults to geriatric populations.
• Current BLS certification is required.
