Company

hirify.global is an engineering services firm providing power-system consulting and infrastructure solutions to clients across the United States.

What you will do

  • Develop, validate, tune, and maintain power-flow, dynamic, short-circuit, and EMT models for generation, renewable energy, storage, data-center, and large-load projects.
  • Lead generation and large-load interconnection studies from application and model development through utility review, model acceptance, and commissioning support.
  • Perform load-flow, contingency, transient-stability, voltage-performance, reactive-power, electromagnetic-transient, and grid-code compliance studies.
  • Coordinate technical information with clients, utilities, ISO/RTO representatives, equipment manufacturers, power-plant-controller vendors, and EPC contractors.
  • Review study results, identify technical errors and network-upgrade implications, and advise clients on interconnection strategy and project risks.
  • Prepare technical reports, scopes, schedules, budgets, and cost estimates; lead technical QA/QC and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, preferably with an electric-power focus.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in power-system studies, transmission planning, generation interconnection, large-load interconnection, or grid integration.
  • Hands-on proficiency with PSCAD and at least one positive-sequence planning platform such as PSS®E or PSLF.
  • Experience developing or validating dynamic models and working with power flow, short circuit, transient stability, reactive-power, and EMT analysis.
  • Knowledge of NERC standards and ISO/RTO or utility interconnection requirements, with the ability to interpret results and produce technical recommendations.
  • Ability to work in the United States or in the Lakewood, Colorado office; U.S. work authorization is required.

Nice to have

  • Master’s or doctoral degree, Professional Engineer license, or Engineer-in-Training certification.
  • Experience with ERCOT, WECC, CAISO, SPP, MISO, PJM, SERC, ISO-NE, or NYISO.
  • Experience with model-quality testing, RMS/EMT benchmarking, inverter controls, power-plant-controller tuning, or large-load and data-center interconnection studies.
  • Experience with TSAT, TARA, PowerWorld, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ASPEN OneLiner, ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, Python, or similar tools.
  • Consulting, project-management, proposal-development, budgeting, or direct client-responsibility experience.

Culture & Benefits

  • Collaborative and flexible work environment with remote flexibility.
  • Medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, and long-term disability premiums fully paid by the employer.
