Mechanical Project Engineer (Automotive)

What you will do

• Lead mechanical design using CAD tools for projects and independently manage smaller projects.
• Drive mechanical development in cooperation with regional engineers, external engineering partners, internal departments, and suppliers.
• Manage mechanical interfaces with customers and internal teams and develop mechanical content for RFI and RFQ phases.
• Implement projects throughout the complete product life cycle and ensure quality delivery for assigned programs.
• Develop innovative mechanical systems, resolve project issues, and report project status to management.
• Follow and improve mechanical development processes, design standards, and guidelines.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in mechanical development and mechanical project leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or comparable education with several years of relevant experience.
• Strong project leadership skills and the ability to work independently as a functional lead.
• Expertise in mechanical development of automotive electronic products; multimedia product experience is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of plastic injection parts, sheet metal, die casting, tooling, and secondary processes.
• Good knowledge of Creo/Pro/ENGINEER, customer and supplier relationship management, communication, presentation, and English language skills.
