FinOps Analyst 2 (Cloud FinOps)

Location: Portland, ME; Boston, MA; Dallas, TX; Seattle, WA; or Chicago, IL

Salary: $68,000–$84,700 base pay annually

hirify.global is expanding its FinOps practice to improve financial accountability and transparency for cloud spending.

What you will do

• Prepare recurring monthly reports and presentations on cloud spend, trends, and variance against plan.
• Analyze costs for specific workloads, accounts, services, and business units in response to stakeholder requests.
• Identify and package optimization opportunities, including rightsizing, idle-resource cleanup, storage tiering, and license rationalization.
• Support Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and committed-use discounts while tracking savings, coverage, and utilization.
• Monitor anomalous spend, investigate root causes, maintain budgets and forecasts, and track issues through resolution.
• Administer FinOpsly dashboards, alerts, access, mappings, dimensions, and views while improving tagging and cost-allocation accuracy.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in financial analysis, business analysis, data analysis, or cloud operations.
• Advanced proficiency with Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, conditional logic, reusable templates, and financial models.
• Experience working with large, messy datasets and converting them into clear summaries and recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting findings to engineering, finance, and business stakeholders.
• Ability to manage ambiguity, recurring deliverables, and multiple ad-hoc requests.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, Economics, Data Analytics, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with FinOpsly, CloudHealth, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, or a similar cloud cost-management platform.
• Familiarity with AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or GCP billing constructs, including reservations, savings plans, committed-use discounts, and enterprise agreements.
• Experience with Looker, Grafana, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, or Python for data extraction and transformation.
• FinOps Certified Practitioner certification or willingness to obtain it within the first six months.
• Experience with SaaS and shared-services cost allocation, showback, or chargeback.
