Senior Power Electronics Engineer (Energy Storage)

What you will do

• Design high-voltage, high-power converters for utility-scale battery energy storage systems and industrial infrastructure.
• Evaluate converter topologies, power-stage components, MOSFETs, gate drivers, magnetic components, EMI filters, and thermal management solutions.
• Design low-voltage subsystems, sensing circuits, protection hardware, and high-power PCB/PCBA layouts.
• Define system requirements, test specifications, verification methods, and production tester requirements.
• Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, controls, systems, compliance, supply chain, reliability, and manufacturing teams.
• Support industry certifications including IEEE 1547 and UL 1741, as well as rapid prototyping and hardware iterations.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power electronics.
• 3–5 years of experience in power conversion or energy storage products, preferably in mass production.
• Hands-on experience designing hardware up to 1.5 kVDC and 480 VAC, including power semiconductors, gate drivers, and protection circuits.
• Strong understanding of AC/DC and DC/DC topologies, circuit and FEA simulation, thermal analysis, and high-power PCB layout.
• Experience with tools such as Simulink, LTspice, Ansys Maxwell, Q3D, and Altium Designer, as well as oscilloscopes and other laboratory equipment.
• Ability to select components for electrical performance and manufacturability, mentor test technicians, analyze test data, and collaborate across functions.
