Focus on architecting complex control hardware, bringing up prototype assemblies, and validating high-speed interfaces with FPGA, firmware, and software teams.

Location: Boulder, Colorado, United States; hybrid

Base salary: $140,000–$160,000 annually, plus annual bonus and equity.

Company

hirify.global develops quantum computers based on arrays of optically trapped neutral atoms.

What you will do

  • Define system architectures for quantum-computing control instruments, including analog and RF front ends, signal conditioning, amplification, data converters, power, clocking, and monitoring circuits.
  • Research, simulate, prototype, evaluate, and design high-speed mixed-signal front ends for laser and actuator control.
  • Collaborate with quantum engineers, physicists, and software and hardware teams to establish system requirements and solutions.
  • Design board-level circuits, capture schematics, and support PCB layout in Altium Designer.
  • Lead hardware bring-up, verification, testing, and debugging of custom control-system assemblies.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of relevant postgraduate experience in board-level analog and digital circuit design.
  • Experience across the full hardware design cycle, from concept and schematic capture through layout, fabrication, and initial board bring-up.
  • Strong mixed-signal design skills, PCB design knowledge, and experience with complex ICs, multiple power supplies, high-speed buses, and memory interfaces.
  • Proficiency with electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Ability to collaborate with experimental physicists, hardware engineers, FPGA, firmware, and software engineers.

Nice to have

  • RF design or software-defined radio experience.
  • Experience with high-speed data converters, multi-gigabit serial transceivers, high-speed memory, and digital or analog I/O.
  • IBIS-AMI modeling, serial-interface equalization, and connector or cable characterization experience.
  • Python scripting for data acquisition, instrument control, and automated hardware testing.
  • Linux experience and familiarity with MicroTCA, PXIe, or similar pluggable instrument standards.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work in a fast-growing startup environment with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers.
  • Fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents.
  • Unlimited paid time off, 401(k) company matching, disability coverage, FSA, dependent care benefits, and life insurance.
  • Annual bonus and company equity in addition to base salary.
  • Drinks, snacks, and catered team lunches are provided in the offices.
