TL;DR

Location: Boston, Massachusetts; hybrid schedule with 2–3 days onsite per week

Salary: $89,000–$101,100 per year

What you will do

  • Manage complex portfolios of federal, industry, foundation, donor, institutional, chargeback, and clinical trial funding.
  • Prepare financial and narrative sponsor reports, project projections, summaries, invoices, and receivables tracking.
  • Review procurement requests, purchase orders, PCard transactions, service bills, fund availability, and expense allocations.
  • Support research staffing processes, including funding analyses, job descriptions, salary offers, visa applications, salary allocations, promotions, and offboarding.
  • Advise faculty and researchers on grant policies, financial conflict of interest, foreign influence, agreements, time and effort certification, and other compliance requirements.
  • Lead special projects, training, mentoring, and cross-institute collaboration with research finance, grants and contracts, clinical trials, legal, and innovation offices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced experience managing complex research awards, budgets, projections, and varying project periods.
  • Strong knowledge of NIH and other federal, state, foundation, and institutional regulations and policies.
  • Expertise with software applications and spreadsheets, including Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, written communication, verbal communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in Boston 2–3 days per week.
