Field Leader Electric Operations Line (Electric Operations): Leading field teams responsible for emergency response, maintenance, asset improvements, and outage restoration across a transmission and distribution electric system with an accent on safety leadership, workforce development, and operational reliability. Focus on directing damage assessment and restoration, managing resources and budgets, troubleshooting equipment concerns, and meeting CAIDI, SAIDI, SAIFI, and ETR goals.

Location: Crown Point, Indiana, United States; onsite field operations with rotating standby and shift work

Salary: $96,600–$144,900 per year

What you will do

  • Lead front-line employees and contractors supporting transmission and distribution electric operations, maintenance, asset improvements, and emergency response.
  • Promote safe work practices, enforce operational standards, and maintain compliance with safety manuals, regulations, and procedures.
  • Coach, develop, train, and evaluate employees while facilitating communication between field workers and the wider organization.
  • Direct outage damage assessment, restoration work, storm response, and regional standby activities.
  • Manage work plans, operating and maintenance resources, capital budgets, tools, technology, and operational performance goals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, troubleshoot equipment or process issues, and periodically assume department manager duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic understanding of electrical concepts and theories, with strong knowledge of job-site safety and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to assess emergency situations, make sound decisions, motivate stakeholders, and achieve common operational goals.
  • Ability to coach and develop employees, organize and plan work, and use technologies including ITOA, OMS, NIMS, Salesforce, and GIS.
  • Valid state driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • 4+ years of experience in the electric industry, a related utility, or skilled trades.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Project Management Professional, Certified Safety Professional, or Professional Engineer certification.
