Supervisor, Gas Field Operations (Gas Construction)

Location: Waterbury, Connecticut; travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire is required. The role involves outdoor fieldwork, travel to job sites and customer premises, shift work, rotational on-call coverage, and emergency restoration assignments.

Annual salary: $121,710–$135,230, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

• Supervise internal, external, and on-call crews performing gas distribution operations, maintenance, and construction.
• Plan, coordinate, and schedule field workloads, work packages, permits, drawings, and materials.
• Respond to outages and reported gas leaks, classify incidents, and ensure engineering and gas control procedures are followed.
• Monitor crew safety, workmanship, productivity, service levels, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Communicate with customers, community officials, project managers, contractors, and unionized work crews.
• Review billing, address labor-related issues and grievances, and conduct disciplinary investigations when required.

Requirements

• Five or more years of experience in gas distribution, field service design or installation, customer service, or utility operations.
• Knowledge of gas distribution system design, operations, maintenance, construction principles, safety standards, and business processes.
• Project, schedule, computerized work and materials management, communication, conflict resolution, and teamwork skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Valid motor vehicle operator license and ability to obtain and maintain required operator qualifications.
