Patient AR Specialist

Location: Nashville, TN, hybrid

What you will do

• Review aging reports daily, prioritize high-balance accounts, and maintain accounts receivable inventory.
• Contact patients by phone and mail regarding balances, statements, insurance payments, and account questions.
• Set up payment arrangements, post uninsured-patient discounts, and provide itemized statements.
• Gather financial information to support applications for patient assistance programs.
• Manage payment plans, bankruptcy accounts, deceased-patient estates, hardship cases, and related system adjustments.
• Coordinate with Financial Counselors, Patient Advocates, and Insurance Collectors to resolve balances and disputes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Working knowledge of billing, HCPCS, CPT, and ICD codes.
• Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication, active listening, multitasking, organization, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other computer applications.
• Ability to work effectively with management and colleagues, demonstrating initiative and mature judgment.
• Patient collections and customer service or call center experience preferred.
