Lead Collections Specialist (Financial Services)

Location: On site in Tarboro, North Carolina, United States. Travel to branches within and outside the assigned district is required, with a primary home branch.

What you will do

• Manage high-volume collections activity across an assigned district and work toward delinquency goals.
• Contact customers and arrange repayment or settlement solutions for past-due accounts.
• Negotiate respectfully while delivering a positive customer experience.
• Partner with branch managers and teams to identify performance trends and provide targeted collections support.
• Train and coach branch employees on delinquency management, account resolution, and collection best practices.
• Maintain accurate account documentation and follow company policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–3 years of experience in collections, consumer lending, financial services, or account resolution.
• Strong customer service, relationship-building, negotiation, judgment, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to manage high-volume workloads, prioritize effectively, and work toward performance goals.
• Ability to influence, coach, and build trust with customers and colleagues.
• Willingness and ability to travel to branches within and outside the assigned district.

Nice to have

• Experience coaching, mentoring, or training others.
• Experience supporting multiple branches, locations, or teams.
