Staff Software Engineer (React)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States; primary location at 809 11th Ave. This is a full-time, onsite role.

Annual salary: $143,000–$286,000, plus performance-based bonuses and potential stock compensation.

hirify.global's eCommerce Decision Science Platform & Engineering team builds analytics, experimentation, AI/ML, intelligent automation, and enterprise engineering capabilities for Walmart eCommerce.

What you will do

• Design, build, and scale production-grade frontend applications and reusable UI capabilities for analytics, experimentation, GenAI, and AI agents.
• Develop web experiences with React, TypeScript, design systems, data visualization, and API integrations.
• Build interfaces for conversational AI, streaming responses, agent workflows, and complex enterprise applications.
• Establish standards for frontend architecture, performance, accessibility, security, testing, and reliability.
• Partner with Backend Engineering, AI/ML, Data Science, UX, Product, and Platform teams.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and drive scalable solutions across eCommerce.

Requirements

• Cloud-native architecture experience with microservices, containers, and automation.
• Strong knowledge of software design patterns, API design, and software prototyping.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, React JSX, and CSS frameworks.
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and monitoring.
• Ability to lead system design reviews and make long-term architectural trade-offs.
• At least 5 years of experience in analytics or a related field, or a relevant bachelor's or master's degree with applicable experience.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related area.
• Experience implementing WCAG 2.2 AA standards and working with assistive technologies.
• Experience creating inclusive digital experiences and applying accessibility best practices.
