Production Welder

Location: Devens, Massachusetts, United States; on-site

Salary: $30–$41 per hour, plus equity and benefits. Shift differentials range from 10% to 30%.

What you will do

• Perform in-house welding and inspection of large metallic structures, tooling, and magnet components.
• Set up welding processes, select appropriate equipment and methods, and perform manual, semi-automated, and advanced welding.
• Read drawings, take measurements, plan layouts, and cut and join materials.
• Weld components in vertical, flat, and overhead positions and conduct equipment qualification trials.
• Provide manufacturability feedback to design engineers on weld geometries and material selection.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing discrepancies while following safety procedures and supporting continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of welding experience on large structural systems and tooling.
• Documented training or certification in blueprint reading and fabrication, GMAW, GTAW, and advanced SMAW.
• Experience producing welds that meet industry standards and welding stainless steel.
• Experience using GTAW to weld copper.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform extended periods of standing, sitting, stooping, and typing.
• Must work on-site in Devens, Massachusetts, and be willing to work required nights, weekends, on-call periods, and occasional travel.

Nice to have

• Welding experience in pressure vessel, aerospace, or nuclear applications.
• Electron beam, laser, mechanized, or automated welding experience.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation, manage projects and time, and work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and knowledge of welding equipment, procedures, and numerical calculations.
