TIG Welder

Location: North Kingstown, Rhode Island, United States. Workplace type: Onsite.

Salary: $26.00–$34.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform GTAW/TIG welding along with MIG/GMAW, FCAW, and tack welding according to WPS, weld data sheets, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Select filler materials, electrodes, tooling, and welding parameters for different materials and job requirements.
• Set up parts and fixtures for accurate fit-up and alignment, and prepare joints by removing contaminants.
• Complete fillet, groove, butt, and full-penetration welds on carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys, and specialty metals.
• Control heat input, penetration, weld profile, and distortion; inspect, measure, grind, clean, blend, and repair welds.
• Operate plasma- and torch-cutting equipment, material-handling equipment, and maintain safe, clean welding areas.

Requirements

• Experience with TIG/GTAW welding on stainless steel, nickel alloys, and other specialty metals.
• Experience with full-penetration groove welds, multi-pass TIG welding, back-purging, and controlled shielding.
• Experience working from formal Weld Procedure Specifications and in a quality-controlled manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, WPS/weld data sheets, and operation travelers.
• Successful completion of company-required welding qualification tests, including 2G and 2F qualifications.

Nice to have

• AWS, ASME, military, aerospace, pressure-vessel, or other relevant welding certifications and qualifications.
