Senior Manager, Legal Operations Technology (AI)

Location: Rosemont, Illinois, United States

Base compensation: $120,000–$140,000 per year, depending on factors including location and experience.

What you will do

• Own multi-year legal technology transformation initiatives, including program budget oversight and progress reporting to legal leadership.
• Maintain and optimize the legal technology ecosystem, redesigning workflows and building solutions in low-code/no-code CLM and ELM platforms.
• Act as the primary liaison with Technology for implementations, enhancements, troubleshooting, support escalations, and root-cause resolution.
• Manage updates to agreements, intake forms, templates, playbooks, workflows, FAQs, and reference guides.
• Advise on emerging legal technologies, including AI, automation, and analytics, and coordinate discovery, requirements gathering, recommendations, UAT, defect tracking, and go-live readiness.
• Track platform metrics, demonstrate return on investment, and lead training, communications, and change management to drive adoption.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in legal operations, legal technology, or related technology management within an in-house legal department or law firm innovation/operations function.
• Experience leading platforms such as Ironclad, Litify, Josef, Legal Tracker, or comparable CLM, matter management, or e-billing solutions.
• Hands-on developer or administrator experience with the ability to build workflows in low-code/no-code legal technology tools.
• Experience building AI-assisted legal workflows with tools such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or Harvey, including governance, evaluation criteria, and use-case prioritization.
• Strong systems thinking, project management, executive communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in commercial real estate, industrial, or another asset-intensive industry.
• Familiarity with Salesforce, SharePoint, and Yardi.
• Experience with Agile or hybrid delivery models, including backlog input, UAT, and sprint participation.
• Participation in CLOC, ACC Legal Operations, LegalOps.com, or comparable professional organizations or certifications.
