Senior Software Engineer (AI Platform)

Location: Remote within the United States

Base pay: $196,984–$222,000 per year, plus a competitive bonus.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate production AI agents, including an autonomous coding agent that works with Jira and Slack, opens pull requests, fixes CI failures, and responds to code review feedback.
• Build retrieval and context systems using embeddings, semantic search, knowledge graphs, Snowflake semantic layers, and internal documentation.
• Extend the internal Model Context Protocol server with reusable skills, tools, and workflows for product teams.
• Create offline evaluations and online metrics to measure prompts, models, retrieval quality, and agent performance.
• Reduce model cost and latency through routing, caching, structured outputs, and spend tracking on AWS Bedrock.
• Secure and operate agent systems through least-privilege access, auditable actions, human approvals, tracing, logging, and on-call support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 6 years of professional software development experience, including end-to-end ownership of production services.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience shipping LLM-powered features or agents to production.
• Experience with tool or function calling, prompt design, structured outputs, model failure handling, retrieval systems, embeddings, vector or hybrid search, chunking, ranking, and retrieval evaluation.
• Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or Ruby, with experience working across a polyglot codebase.
• Experience with a major cloud platform, preferably AWS, as well as CI/CD, observability, and measurable evaluation practices.

Nice to have

• AWS Bedrock, MCP servers, agent tool frameworks, or model cost and latency optimization at scale.
• Knowledge graphs, semantic layers, Snowflake semantic views, dbt metrics, or graph databases.
• Developer workflow integrations with GitHub Actions, Jira, or Slack, including automated code review or code generation.
• LLM security experience, including prompt-injection defenses, sandboxing, permission models, or red-teaming.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails, Elixir, Node, large-scale entity matching, marketplaces, e-commerce, or regulated industries.
