Software Engineer, Data and AI Platform

Location: San Francisco, CA or Sunnyvale, CA

Salary: $130,600–$192,000, $159,800–$235,000, or $193,800–$285,000 USD annually, depending on work location and level. Equity grants may also be included.

What you will do

• Build agentic analytics and AI-assisted query-authoring features for thousands of users.
• Develop reporting platform capabilities including authoring, dashboard runtime, drill-downs, cross-filtering, scheduling, alerting, permissions, certification, and embedding.
• Stream large result sets to browsers and render interdependent dashboard components.
• Evolve semantic layers, metric and dimension models, metadata, lineage, and governance.
• Own query planning, federation, adaptive caching, invalidation, and safe execution under bursty agent traffic.
• Build AI-enabled services, assistant evaluation tooling, and data discovery platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of industry software engineering experience.
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals with Go and Python, including production service ownership.
• Experience shipping LLM-powered features using retrieval, grounding, and evaluation systems.
• Experience building data platform products such as semantic layers, data discovery, reporting, caching, or data applications.
• Production experience with AWS or a similar cloud environment, Kubernetes, MCP or agent frameworks, and tool-calling architectures.

Nice to have

• Full-stack engineering experience.
• Experience with reporting and analytics tools, data governance, controls, and multi-tenant data platforms.
• Experience with prompt and context optimization, token budgeting, caching, and cost or latency tuning.
