Revenue Cycle Consultant (Staff Consultant I)

Location: Remote; support for a Defense Health Agency client and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust required

What you will do

• Analyze and reconcile accounts receivable data, identify trends and errors, and support improvement strategies.
• Prepare documentation and responses for internal and external revenue cycle audits.
• Support compliance policies, internal controls, regulatory monitoring, and corrective action plans.
• Assist with project planning, timelines, deliverables, risk tracking, and status reporting.
• Coordinate communications with project teams, business partners, and client stakeholders.
• Research healthcare regulations, industry trends, and revenue cycle best practices.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations, healthcare finance, or healthcare consulting.
• Understanding of the end-to-end revenue cycle, including registration, coding, billing, payment posting, denials, and collections.
• Experience working with healthcare data and electronic health record or revenue cycle systems.
• Ability to prepare clear process notes, standard operating procedures, reports, and presentations.
• Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and basic formulas, plus working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, accounting, or a related field; ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust required.

Nice to have

• Experience with MHS GENESIS, Oracle/Cerner, healthcare billing and coding systems, or revenue cycle analytics tools.
• Hands-on experience with billing, claims follow-up, denials management, payment posting, or collections.
• Experience supporting compliance reviews, audit readiness, corrective action plans, or training delivery.
• Experience with the Military Health System, Defense Health Agency, Veterans Health Administration, or other federal healthcare organizations.
• Certified Revenue Cycle Representative certification or a similar credential.
