Revenue Cycle Consultant (Staff Consultant I)

What you will do

• Analyze and reconcile accounts receivable data, identify trends and errors, and support A/R strategies and performance reporting.
• Prepare documentation and responses for internal and external revenue cycle audits.
• Support corrective action plans, audit remediation, compliance monitoring, and internal control activities.
• Assist with project plans, timelines, deliverables, risk tracking, status reports, and stakeholder communications.
• Research healthcare regulations, industry trends, and revenue cycle best practices.
• Participate in client meetings, process discussions, presentations, and knowledge-sharing activities.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations, healthcare finance, or healthcare consulting.
• Understanding of the end-to-end revenue cycle, including registration, charge capture, coding, billing, payment posting, denials, and collections.
• Experience working with healthcare data, electronic health record or revenue cycle systems, and clear written documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and basic formulas; working proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, accounting, or a related field.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with EHR, revenue cycle, billing, coding, claims, denials, payment posting, or collections systems.
• Experience with Power BI, SAS, Tableau, Qlik Sense, MHS GENESIS, ABACUS, M2, MDR, EAS IV, or Health Data Intelligence/HealtheAnalytics.
• Experience supporting compliance reviews, audit readiness, corrective action plans, or training delivery.
• Experience with DHA, MHS, Veterans Health Administration, or other federal healthcare organizations.
• Certified Revenue Cycle Representative certification or a similar credential.
