Location: Must be based in Baltimore, MD; Chicago, IL; New York, NY; or Washington, DC. When travel is not required, the role works on a hybrid basis with colleagues from the designated office. Consistent travel of 50%–80% may be required depending on project and client needs.
Salary: $85,000–$115,000 per year

What you will do
- Support small- to medium-sized healthcare consulting engagements and discrete workstreams on larger projects.
- Advance revenue cycle initiatives across Patient Access, HIM/Coding, Charge Capture, Revenue Integrity, Denials and Underpayments Management and Recovery, and Patient Financial Services.
- Develop operational and financial analyses, models, project charters, workplans, benefit-tracking tools, deliverables, and transition plans.
- Improve revenue cycle metrics, including accounts receivable days, cash acceleration, insurance verification, claim submissions, denials, collections, and bad debt.
- Prepare client deliverables, expert reports, presentations, and steering committee materials.
- Manage client relationships, audit practices using data analysis and interviews, and collaborate with consultants and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Two to four years of healthcare industry or consulting experience in revenue cycle performance improvement, process reengineering, revenue management, reimbursement, or recovery strategies.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in management, accounting, finance, healthcare administration, business administration, or a related discipline.
- Strong project management, financial analysis, workplan, budget, timeline, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- Experience with R, SQL, and Python for analysis and solution development.
- Must provide verification of legal right to work in the U.S.; company sponsorship is not available.
Nice to have
- Prior consulting experience and an applicable certification such as CRCR, CHFP, CHAM, CRCE-I, or CRCE-P.
- Operational expertise in revenue cycle functions, including Patient Access, HIM/Coding, Charge Capture, Revenue Integrity, Denials, Underpayments, or Patient Financial Services.
- Familiarity with Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, MEDITECH, or athenaIDX.
