Product Owner - NBS (Power BI)

Location: Hybrid in Lincoln, Nebraska; candidates must live within 30 miles of the Lincoln office and work onsite three days per week.

Salary: $85,000–$90,000 per year

What you will do

• Coordinate product development, release planning, and delivery for reporting and analytics products in a K-12 student information system.
• Translate the needs of school and district administrators, data coordinators, and educators into use cases, requirements, and user stories.
• Define and maintain metrics, data definitions, source views, relationships, calculations, and data-quality standards.
• Manage the report and dashboard catalog, including prioritization, customer releases, updates, and retirement of outdated content.
• Shape self-service reporting features, including report creation, sharing, discovery, and role-based access to student data.
• Validate report mockups and dashboards with clients, analyze product usage, and provide documentation, training, and release content.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, plus at least one year of related experience or existing product knowledge.
• Experience with business intelligence or reporting tools; Microsoft Power BI experience is strongly preferred, including reports, data models, basic DAX, or Power Query.
• Ability to read and write basic SQL queries or otherwise explore and validate data.
• Understanding of data visualization, data relationships, calculations, quality validation, analytical reasoning, and data storytelling.
• Ability to communicate with developers, data engineers, school and district users, sales, marketing, and product teams.
• Must already be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with K-12 education data or student information systems.
• Experience managing client feedback, report definitions, roadmaps, and customer-facing documentation.
