Sr Perimeter Network Engineer (Palo Alto)

Location: 229 West 43rd Street, New York, NY; in-person interview may be required at a hirify.global location

Salary: USD 140,000–160,000 yearly

What you will do

• Design, deploy, maintain, and optimize physical and virtual Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls.
• Lead firewall architecture covering security zones, segmentation, NAT, security policies, App-ID, User-ID, Content-ID, and GlobalProtect VPN.
• Manage Panorama, high-availability firewall clusters, and multi-site hybrid cloud perimeter environments across Azure and GCP.
• Configure and optimize IPS/IDS, URL Filtering, WildFire, DNS Security, and SSL decryption.
• Monitor incidents, troubleshoot complex network and firewall issues, conduct rule reviews, and support vulnerability remediation and compliance.
• Serve as a perimeter security subject-matter expert, mentor junior engineers, and lead firewall migration and upgrade initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of network engineering experience and 5+ years working hands-on with Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
• Strong experience with Panorama, GlobalProtect, IPSec and SSL VPNs, BGP, OSPF, routing, network segmentation, and zero-trust design.
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, NAT, VLANs, DNS/DHCP, SSL/TLS, and high-availability firewall deployments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in complex enterprise environments, with the ability to lead technical initiatives independently.
• Availability for an in-person interview at a hirify.global location may be required.

Nice to have

• Palo Alto certifications, especially PCNSE.
• Experience with VM-Series, Prisma Access, or SASE solutions.
• Automation experience with Python, Ansible, or REST APIs.
• SIEM integration experience with Splunk, Sentinel, or similar platforms.
• Experience in large enterprise or multi-data-center environments.
