Senior Security Engineer, Networking (AI)

Location: New York, NY or Sunnyvale, CA, United States

Base salary: $182,000–$242,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus and equity awards.

What you will do

• Design and deploy network security controls across data center perimeters, internal fabrics, firewalls, IPS/IDS, and segmented networks.
• Implement Zero Trust architecture based on least-privilege access, continuous verification, and micro-segmentation.
• Monitor security events, identify vulnerabilities and indicators of compromise, and coordinate network incident response.
• Secure high-density GPU clusters, low-latency backend fabrics, high-speed interconnects, and customer data in transit.
• Collaborate with Networking, Infrastructure, DevOps/SRE, and Software Engineering teams on secure architecture, deployments, and code reviews.
• Lead security initiatives, mentor engineers, and develop security policies and operating procedures for distributed infrastructure.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of hands-on network security engineering experience in large-scale cloud or hyperscaler environments.
• Strong knowledge of DDoS mitigation, web exploit defense, network protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, and HTTP/S, VPNs, firewalls, and network segmentation.
• Experience securing AWS, GCP, Azure, or custom hyperscale infrastructure and containerized environments.
• Experience leading security initiatives, mentoring engineers, and collaborating across networking, infrastructure, DevOps/SRE, and software teams.
• Experience developing security policies and controls, with familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 frameworks.
• Must satisfy U.S. export-control access requirements, including being a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for access or export authorization.

Nice to have

• Experience at a top-tier cloud provider or hyperscale organization.
• Experience with IAM, single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, and network access control.
• Python, Go, infrastructure-as-code, DevSecOps, or CI/CD security experience.
• CISSP, CCSP, GIAC, or cloud security certifications.
• Security community participation or open-source security contributions.
