Mid-Level Boundary Engineer – SSFB/HSV

Location: On-site at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado, or Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, USA. Remote and telework are not available. Day shift; travel up to 10%.

Salary: $115,000–$125,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and relevant certifications.

What you will do

• Implement and maintain network perimeter infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network devices.
• Configure and troubleshoot BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP routing protocols across network switching and routing environments.
• Configure and maintain firewall infrastructure, including Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls and web proxies.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot perimeter issues, and resolve network incidents.
• Implement network security policies, manage PKI infrastructure, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with IT teams supporting business applications and services, and document network configurations and procedures.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of Boundary engineering experience.
• Direct experience with Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls and web proxies.
• Working knowledge of the OSI model and IP protocol stack.
• Experience with BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP in Netscaler, Cisco, Citrix, and Firepower environments.
• Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification, such as Security+ or CISSP.
• Must have or obtain an active DoW Secret Security Clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience documenting test or analysis data for cybersecurity compliance.
• Experience with NISPOM, isolated network security, ATO under JSIG, and Zero Trust environments.
• Current CISSP, DoD 8570 IAT Level III, or CCNA certification.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and written and verbal communication skills.
