Senior Cloud Security Engineer (Azure)

Location: Welwyn Garden City, United Kingdom; hybrid, with 60% of the week spent collaborating at office locations or local sites and the remainder remotely

What you will do

• Manage Azure Policy direction and support policy exemptions across team, environment, and global scopes.
• Design, review, and deliver Azure Policies while assessing the viability and impact of proposed approaches.
• Evaluate Azure security-related change initiatives for compliance with security policies and standards.
• Act as a subject matter expert and provide Azure security architecture advice to Technology Security, Cloud Platform Engineering, and Infrastructure Architecture teams.
• Develop centralized security controls and reduce friction when consuming organisationally aligned infrastructure.
• Support senior stakeholders with security deliverables and review the appropriateness of security controls.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a senior Azure architecture or engineering role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Azure security best practices.
• Demonstrable experience with Azure CLI, PowerShell, or the Azure Graph REST API.
• Experience working with Azure at enterprise scale in an engineering-led organisation.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with infrastructure, security, and software development engineers.
• Ability to translate Azure concepts and security requirements for stakeholders with varying levels of Azure expertise.
