Security Technical Risk Advisor 1 (Cyber Security)

Location: Bristol or Chippenham, United Kingdom. The role requires SC security clearance, a minimum of five years of UK working history, and sole UK nationality.

What you will do

• Provide security leadership and assurance for BT Defence environments.
• Review cloud, hybrid, distributed cloud, networking, and on-premise architectures.
• Work with engineering, operations, architects, customers, and assuring bodies to identify threats and manage risk.
• Perform threat and risk assessments and select proportionate security controls.
• Support sales and new-business teams by planning security deliverables and ensuring security requirements are addressed throughout the system lifecycle.

Requirements

• SC security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain it is required.
• Sole UK nationality and at least five years of UK working history are required.
• Proven experience in security and information risk management.
• Strong understanding of cloud and hybrid security architectures, including on-premise and distributed cloud models.
• Strong network security knowledge covering WAN, LAN, and WLAN.
• Experience producing and presenting security documentation such as Security Management Plans, Security Cases, and SyOPs.

Nice to have

• Experience in Defence, the Ministry of Defence, or HM Government departments and agencies.
• Experience with Kubernetes containerisation, cryptographic solutions, and boundary protection technologies.
• Knowledge of the Cyber Security Model, Defence Conditions, DEFCON 658, DEFSTAN 05-138, and Cyber Implementation Plans.
