Power Systems Applications Engineer (Switchgear)

Location: Alpharetta, Georgia, United States; onsite position. Relocation assistance is offered. Visa sponsorship is not approved.

Salary: $97,530–$146,290 per year.

What you will do

• Review customer specifications, proposals, estimates, and contract documents to prepare drawings, bills of materials, and submittal packages.
• Design and approve switchgear, generator control systems, protective relaying schemes, and medium- and low-voltage power envelopes.
• Work with customers, consultants, dealers, sales, and leadership to clarify requirements and gain production approval.
• Support the transition of approved submittals into production and provide clear designs for production engineers.
• Research parts and vendor requirements and support the implementation of new technologies.
• Deliver technical analysis, simulations, recommendations, and continuous improvements in collaboration with design, manufacturing, supply chain, and test teams.

Requirements

• Degree from an accredited program in Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science.
• Experience designing low- and medium-voltage switchgear.
• Analytical thinking, structured problem solving, accuracy, and strong attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication, including technical presentations and reports.
• Understanding of project management objectives, phases, deliverables, and critical paths.
• Ability to work onsite in Alpharetta, Georgia, United States; sponsorship is not approved.
