Project Engineer, Electric Transmission Line

Location: Oakland, California; hybrid work from a remote office and an assigned location within the PG&E Service Territory. Travel to project-related functions is required approximately 20% of the time.

Annual salary: $115,128–$175,080

What you will do

• Lead engineering and design for complex electric transmission line projects.
• Perform engineering analyses, technical studies, conceptual designs, and root cause analyses.
• Prepare design criteria, scopes, specifications, technical reports, and project documentation.
• Evaluate project alternatives and review consultant contracts, drawings, and revisions for technical compliance.
• Conduct walkdowns and design review meetings with engineers, project managers, contractors, vendors, and other partners.
• Provide technical guidance, support restoration planning, respond to facility failures, and represent PG&E to government bodies when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited US curriculum or an equivalent degree from outside the US.
• At least 3 years of cumulative engineering and design experience.
• Strong familiarity with G.O. 95, NESC, transmission and distribution line standards, and construction practices.
• Experience with transmission line engineering tools such as PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and apply engineering principles to assigned objectives.

Nice to have

• EIT certificate or current California PE license.
• Project management experience.
