Director, Business Intelligence (AI)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States. The role includes an in-person interview, and candidates must have current and unrestricted work authorization in the country where the role is based.

Base salary: $161,000–$269,000 per year, excluding potential bonus, commission, and equity.

What you will do

• Translate the BI strategy into a prioritized multi-quarter roadmap and manage project intake, delivery, budget, and resources.
• Partner with Finance, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Product, HR, IT, and executive leadership on high-priority initiatives and enterprise KPIs.
• Embed AI-enabled analytics and automation, including forecasting, anomaly detection, risk scoring, next-best-action recommendations, natural-language querying, AI copilots, and automated insights.
• Oversee data architecture, warehouses, semantic layers, metadata, ETL/ELT pipelines, governance, security, compliance, and data quality.
• Deliver executive dashboards, self-service analytics, and near-real-time insights using trusted data models.
• Hire, lead, and mentor a global team of BI engineers, data engineers, analysts, and data scientists while owning the BI technology and vendor strategy.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence, data engineering, or enterprise data management, including at least five years leading technical teams.
• Experience delivering scalable BI and analytics solutions in a high-growth global software or SaaS environment.
• Strong expertise in Snowflake, Power BI and/or Tableau, SQL, data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and AWS or Azure.
• Working knowledge of ERP, CRM, and HCM applications such as Salesforce, Workday, and NetSuite.
• Experience with data governance, quality frameworks, AI-enabled automation, predictive analytics, complex BI programs, budgets, and competing priorities.
• Current and unrestricted work authorization in the United States is required; visa sponsorship and work authorization support are not available.

• Master’s degree or MBA.
• Equivalent practical experience in a related field.
