What you will do
- Develop strategic relationships with vendors across product management, sales, technical support, shipping, credit, finance, and executive teams.
- Formulate procurement strategies and negotiate supply agreements for high-volume, high-value components.
- Conduct vendor evaluations, communicate results, and establish improvement action plans.
- Coordinate new sourcing opportunities with engineering and perform initial vendor qualification analyses.
- Establish and manage inventory targets, including allocated, safety stock, unallocated, and obsolete inventory.
- Analyze component categories, rationalize SKUs, and manage end-of-life transitions with vendors, customers, engineering, and production.
Requirements
- Relevant experience in the worldwide computer components market and related supply chains, including project management for supply chain initiatives: 9–11 years with a high school diploma or GED, 7–9 years with an associate’s degree, 5–7 years with a bachelor’s degree, or 3–5 years with a master’s degree or MBA.
- Prior experience in an ISO environment and in contract manufacturing or distribution.
- Proven ability to manage high-level vendor relationships and knowledge of warehousing, freight, and domestic and international logistics.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and a strong understanding of supply chain concepts and metrics.
- Ability to manage, coach, and mentor direct reports, with excellent written, oral, listening, and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance and travel periodically to key vendor sites.
Nice to have
- APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification, or equivalent structured career training.
- Experience with ERP, purchasing, quoting, demand planning, and forecasting systems.
- Experience sourcing in ISO 9001:2015 or ISO 13485:2016 environments.
- Proficiency with Google application suites and strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
