Area Operations Manager - Great Plains Super District

Location: Omaha, Nebraska, United States; regular travel within the assigned region of approximately 40–60% is required, including visits to branch and warehouse environments.

What you will do

• Lead and develop Branch Managers and operational teams across multiple locations.
• Translate corporate strategy into regional execution plans and ensure consistent operating standards.
• Manage regional financial performance, budgets, forecasts, productivity, inventory, working capital, and operational KPIs.
• Oversee safety, compliance, warehouse, logistics, delivery, customer service, and inventory processes.
• Drive process standardization, continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and best-practice sharing.
• Own the district ISO Management System, maintain certification readiness, coordinate audits, and drive corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent leadership experience.
• 5–7 years of progressive operations leadership experience, preferably in electrical, industrial, wholesale distribution, or logistics.
• Experience directing multi-location operations or regional branch networks.
• Strong financial acumen, including operational budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics.
• Demonstrated ability to develop leaders and build high-performing teams.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly within the assigned region are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in electrical distribution, construction supply, or industrial/MRO distribution.
• Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement training.
• Experience with ERP, WMS, or distribution management systems.
• Experience with growth, acquisition integration, transformation, or ISO-compliant environments.
