Area Operations Manager - Southwest Super District (Electrical Distribution)

Location: Phoenix, AZ, United States; regular travel within the assigned region approximately 40–60%.

What you will do

• Lead and develop Branch Managers and operational teams across multiple branch locations.
• Translate corporate strategy, policies, and operating standards into regional execution plans.
• Manage regional revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, productivity, inventory, working capital, budgets, and forecasts.
• Oversee safety, compliance, warehouse, logistics, delivery, customer service, and fulfillment performance.
• Lead inventory optimization, process standardization, continuous improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Own the district ISO Management System, including certification readiness, audits, corrective actions, and compliance improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent leadership experience.
• 5–7 years of progressive operations leadership experience, preferably in electrical, industrial, wholesale distribution, or logistics.
• Experience directing multi-location operations or regional branch networks.
• Strong financial acumen, including operational budgets, KPIs, and performance metrics.
• Proven ability to develop leaders and build high-performing teams.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to travel regularly and visit warehouse and branch environments while using appropriate PPE.

Nice to have

• Experience in electrical distribution, construction supply, or industrial/MRO distribution.
• Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement training.
• Experience with ERP, WMS, distribution management systems, or ISO-compliant environments.
• Experience leading growth, acquisition integration, or transformation initiatives.
