Location: Dayton, Ohio, United States. The role involves office and field environments, frequent travel to customer locations, and work in noisy or potentially hazardous areas.

What you will do

  • Supervise the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of avionics systems.
  • Oversee complex diagnostics, troubleshooting, wiring, and equipment inspections.
  • Document maintenance activities and ensure compliance with regulations and safety protocols.
  • Develop maintenance procedures and conduct advanced training for avionics staff.
  • Coordinate with other departments and maintain quality standards across office and field operations.
  • Travel frequently to customer locations, including short-notice assignments, and work in confined spaces or at heights when required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of relevant experience; a higher-level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Expertise in avionics systems, regulatory compliance, technical schematics, wiring, installation tooling, soldering, and crimping.
  • Ability to supervise teams, interpret technical manuals and diagrams, troubleshoot equipment, and follow detailed safety procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, work in noisy or hazardous environments, and operate vehicles for customer travel.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

  • Associate’s degree in Avionics, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Leadership experience in a maintenance environment and experience mentoring subordinates.
  • Familiarity with FCC requirements, the FCC General Radio Operator License, spectrometers, oscilloscopes, or Pitot-static equipment.
  • Experience in aerospace and defense, the U.S. Department of Defense, or the U.S. military.
