Intern, Biobanking (Biotechnology)

Location: Norwood, Massachusetts, United States; lab-based onsite role. Full-time co-op from January 18, 2027 through June 25, 2027; availability for the entire program is required. Only U.S. persons—citizens, permanent residents, asylees, or refugees—are eligible due to U.S. export-control requirements.

Salary range: $20.00–$60.00.

What you will do

• Support biospecimen receipt, documentation, storage, retrieval, and distribution according to SOPs and safety requirements.
• Use LabVantage LIMS for sample tracking, chain of custody, and lifecycle traceability.
• Support laboratory automation and robotics workflows for sample reformatting, storage, and retrieval.
• Handle biospecimens across required temperature conditions while maintaining chain-of-custody practices.
• Support study close-out, sample reconciliation, storage optimization, and discrepancy escalation.
• Prepare project updates and presentations for Biobank and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
• Coursework or laboratory experience in a relevant biological or chemical discipline.
• Basic laboratory skills, including pipetting and sample handling.
• Must be available for the full co-op period from January 18, 2027 through June 25, 2027.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person under applicable export-control laws.

Nice to have

• Interest in biobanking, clinical research, laboratory operations, or regulated laboratory environments.
• Exposure to laboratory equipment, automation, or digital sample-tracking systems.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow complex protocols.
