R&D Lab Manager

Location: Newark, California, United States; onsite laboratory and office work

Salary: $79,800–$131,100 per year

What you will do

• Manage laboratory equipment, including maintenance, service coordination, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Maintain inventories of reagents, consumables, and laboratory supplies.
• Manage laboratory space, housekeeping, safety, and waste disposal activities.
• Identify operational risks and inefficiencies and implement practical process improvements.
• Coordinate onboarding and laboratory training while supporting adherence to established procedures.
• Partner with R&D leadership, EH&S, Operations, and other teams to support compliant laboratory operations and quality system objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, cell biology, life sciences, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of industry experience with a B.S., or 2 years with an M.S., is preferred.
• Experience with standard cell and molecular biology techniques and basic statistical analysis.
• Experience working within a quality system and documenting laboratory work.
• Strong organizational, communication, documentation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Must have work authorization in the United States that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Previous experience managing R&D laboratory operations.
• Experience with ELNs, LIMS, or similar laboratory management tools.
• Experience with microscopy, tissue analysis, and data interpretation.
