Process Development Associate (Biotech)

Salary: $74,503.35–$100,798.65 annual base salary

What you will do

• Develop, characterize, and scale upstream and downstream drug substance manufacturing processes for late-stage clinical and commercial biologics programs.
• Perform bench-scale bioprocess experiments across cell culture and purification operations.
• Maintain cultures in shake flasks, culture bags, and benchtop bioreactors.
• Conduct purification experiments using protein chromatography, filtration, and UF/DF operations.
• Program benchtop bioreactors, chromatography systems, and robotic liquid-handling systems; design experiments and interpret data.
• Communicate findings through presentations, technical reports, GMP documentation, and technical support for process transfers to manufacturing sites.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; alternatively, an associate’s degree with 2 years of scientific experience or a high school diploma/GED with 4 years of scientific experience.
• Experience or demonstrated interest in laboratory work, particularly mammalian cell culture and/or purification operations.
• Basic understanding of cell culture, protein chromatography, and filtration principles.
• Ability to identify and solve problems using scientific and engineering principles, preferably in a process development environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work flexibly in a collaborative environment.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biomedical, or related engineering, life sciences, or another relevant science.
• Familiarity with design of experiments and statistical analysis of data.
