Systems Engineer II (Industrial Controls)

Location: Grand Prairie, Texas, United States; plant-based role with up to 50% domestic travel and occasional international travel

Salary: $95,000–$115,000 annually

What you will do

• Design, develop, implement, upgrade, and support plant instrumentation, control systems, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA applications, and manufacturing data systems.
• Lead and contribute to CAPEX projects across planning, engineering, equipment selection, installation, commissioning, cost control, and delivery.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes, analyze product and process data, and implement initiatives that improve efficiency, safety, quality, and waste reduction.
• Manage SQL databases and manufacturing data, investigate operational and product issues, and provide technical troubleshooting support.
• Provide emergency support for manufacturing facilities and assist with complex operational, quality, and safety issues.
• Back up plant-wide controls systems, maintain technical documentation, and create work instructions and training materials for operators and maintenance personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer, controls, or science.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with PLC programming, especially Allen-Bradley CompactLogix and ControlLogix.
• Experience with control-system design, implementation, installation, troubleshooting, industrial application programming languages, and electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of industrial communication networks, HMI and SCADA integration, system analysis, configuration, development, testing, and maintenance.
• Strong analytical, technical, communication, project coordination, and complex problem-solving skills; ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to work at the Grand Prairie, Texas plant, travel up to 50% domestically, travel internationally when required, and obtain or hold a passport.

Nice to have

• AVEVA System Platform and AVEVA InTouch SCADA programming experience.
• AutoCAD Electrical circuit and control-panel design experience.
• Siemens PLC programming experience and vendor training certificates such as Allen-Bradley or Siemens.
