Controls Technician (Industrial Automation)

Location: New Albany, Ohio, United States. Onsite manufacturing, warehouse, and production work. Day shift from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM on a 2-2-3 rotation; overtime, weekends, or extended schedules may be required.

Base pay: $94,000–$156,000 annually. California and New York metro target range: $104,000–$173,000 annually. Additional compensation may include an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Design, install, program, troubleshoot, and improve automation and control systems for industrial manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose control system failures, implement permanent corrective actions, and optimize alarm management and operator interfaces.
• Provide first-line technical support for automation-related production issues and recommend equipment and process improvements.
• Manage assigned automation and controls projects while coordinating with external vendors and technical representatives.
• Perform and support preventive maintenance activities and document system changes, upgrades, and modifications.
• Train maintenance and engineering personnel and serve as a technical resource for mechanics and technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Electrical or Electronic Engineering Technology.
• At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience focused on control system development, installation, troubleshooting, and automation support.
• PLC programming and troubleshooting experience, preferably with Allen-Bradley or Siemens systems.
• Experience with PC-based HMI development, industrial automation, systems integration, PLC hardware, CPUs, I/O modules, communication modules, and safety relays.
• Electrical troubleshooting experience with 480VAC power systems and 24VDC control circuits, plus proficiency with multimeters and electrical test equipment.
• Must be able to work onsite in New Albany, Ohio, including frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, repetitive motion, machinery operation, PPE use, and lifting or moving 25–50 pounds.
