Automation Engineer III - Mechanical

Salary: $125,000–$135,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop concepts and detailed CAD designs for mechanical mechanisms, components, equipment, and multi-station machines.
• Integrate PLCs, servos, motion controllers, actuators, sensors, and other production technologies into automated equipment.
• Document machine, equipment, and component drawings in accordance with departmental and quality procedures.
• Plan component ordering and fabrication using project schedules and spreadsheets.
• Assemble, wire, program, install, debug, troubleshoot, and repair internally developed or purchased equipment.
• Create operating and maintenance documentation while mentoring and training technicians.

Requirements

• BS degree in Automation, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum 4 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing complex manufacturing equipment and machines.
• Ability to design components and assemblies in a solid-modeling CAD program and produce part and assembly drawings.
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment, fabrication drawings, wiring, PLCs, servos, actuators, sensors, and motion-control systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot minor electrical and mechanical problems using tools such as calipers, micrometers, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, organization, and time-management skills.
