Chief AI Officer

Compensation range: CAD 180,000–330,000 annually

What you will do

• Own the development and execution of an organization-wide AI strategy, technology roadmap, and capability-building plan.
• Assess, evaluate, and deploy AI tools and platforms to improve competitive advantage and operational efficiency.
• Build and scale teams of data scientists, ML engineers, and AI specialists while fostering experimentation and continuous learning.
• Partner with C-suite executives and board members to translate AI opportunities into business outcomes, manage risk, and secure investment.
• Lead cross-functional use-case discovery, pilot programs, and enterprise-scale AI implementations.
• Establish governance frameworks, ethical guardrails, compliance standards, and external industry relationships for responsible AI deployment.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience building and scaling AI, machine learning, or data science capabilities.
• At least 5 years in a leadership or executive role, with experience recruiting technical talent and building organizational structures.
• Proven ability to take AI initiatives from strategy through implementation and measure business impact at scale.
• Strong technical foundation in ML/AI architectures, generative AI, and modern data platforms.
• Ability to communicate complex AI concepts to non-technical audiences and influence executive and board-level decisions.
• Understanding of AI governance, ethics, risk, and compliance in regulated or risk-sensitive industries.
