Senior Director/Director - AI Engineering/Applied AI (Generative AI/LLMs): Leading the development of scalable AI systems for decision automation, fraud detection, customer communication, and process optimization with an accent on model evaluation, governance, monitoring, and responsible AI. Focus on building high-performing engineering teams, designing continuous monitoring and drift detection, and applying fine-tuning, in-context learning, A/B testing, and backtesting in production.
Location: Work from Home, United States
Salary: $210,000–$330,000 base pay per year

What you will do
- Lead, develop, coach, and recruit a high-performing AI engineering team.
- Set the technical vision and roadmap for generative AI, LLM-powered decision automation, fraud detection, and process optimization.
- Partner with product managers and business stakeholders to translate priorities into AI engineering solutions.
- Define practices for model evaluation, governance, monitoring, security, compliance, and responsible AI.
- Build systems for continuous model monitoring, A/B testing, backtesting, and drift detection.
- Collaborate with UX, product, and engineering leaders to deliver integrated AI capabilities.
Requirements
- 15+ years of industry experience in software, machine learning, or data engineering.
- Experience building and leading engineering teams delivering advanced AI solutions at scale.
- Deep expertise in large language models and their application to decision automation, fraud detection, and process optimization.
- Hands-on experience with model fine-tuning, in-context learning, custom evaluation frameworks, backtesting, A/B testing, and drift detection.
- Strong understanding of model monitoring, governance, compliance, responsible AI, and scalable secure AI and data systems.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field.
