Senior System / Subsystem Engineer (UAS)

Location: Full-time on-site in El Segundo (Los Angeles), California, United States. U.S. Person status is required to access U.S.-only data systems.

Base salary: $160,000–$240,000 per year, excluding bonuses, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead systems engineering for a clean-sheet airframe design.
• Design and maintain system architecture and CONOPS.
• Own system and subsystem requirements and specifications from inception through verification and validation.
• Lead system and subsystem integration and test activities, including hardware selloff for customer demonstrations.
• Support local and field testing of software and flight hardware.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional systems engineering experience for a prime systems integrator.
• Experience developing system and subsystem requirements, performing trade studies, and leading subsystem or component selection.
• Practical understanding of UAS subsystems, including sensors, navigation, autopilots, control actuation systems, servos, and power systems.
• Experience with aerospace data reduction, post-test data analysis, modern software development practices, Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and Agile methodologies.
• U.S. Person status is required.

Nice to have

• Current or previous DoD security clearance.
• 10+ years of systems engineering experience with UAS or missile systems.
• Part 107 remote pilot certification.
• Experience integrating EO/IR, radar, or datalink systems.
• Familiarity with DoD standards and handbooks, full-lifecycle systems engineering, and HW/SW integration, testing, verification, and validation of high-TRL systems.
