Senior Network Engineer (Cisco)

What you will do

• Lead site-by-site discovery across LAN, WAN, wireless, data center, and network security environments.
• Conduct onsite walkthroughs at Tier 1 hospital locations and remote assessments of Tier 2 and Tier 3 sites.
• Operate Device42, Lansweeper, ServiceNow Discovery, and SolarWinds to create configuration inventories and topology datasets.
• Analyze routing, switching, IP addressing, redundancy, high availability, firewall controls, hybrid cloud connectivity, and lifecycle risks.
• Own network changes, vulnerability reviews, upgrade planning, remediation roadmaps, governance reporting, and Tier 3 escalation support.
• Develop automation and runbooks, support a self-healing infrastructure model, coordinate clinical change windows, and mentor junior engineers and NOC staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 8 years of hands-on enterprise network engineering experience, including 3 years in a senior or lead capacity.
• Deep Cisco expertise across OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, Nexus, Catalyst, Meraki, Catalyst 9800, ASA, and Firepower.
• Cisco ACI certification is required.
• Hands-on experience with at least two enterprise firewall platforms, plus SD-WAN experience with Cisco Viptela, Meraki, Fortinet, VMware VeloCloud, or comparable technologies.
• Experience with ServiceNow ITSM and CMDB workflows, hybrid cloud connectivity, network security fundamentals, and independent work across multiple hospital and ambulatory sites.

Nice to have

• CCNP or CCIE certification, or vendor security certifications such as PCNSE or Fortinet NSE 6+.
• Network assessment experience in healthcare, financial services, or other regulated environments.
• Healthcare infrastructure experience involving IoMT segmentation, HL7/FHIR, EMR/EHR connectivity, HIPAA, or HITRUST.
• Experience with Ansible, Python, Terraform, managed service providers, or NOC-driven service delivery.
