Senior Network Design Engineer (Financial Services)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States office; hybrid working policy. Up to 25% travel. Relocation is not provided.

Salary: $151,000–$176,000 annual base salary at commencement for the Jersey City, New Jersey area, with eligibility for a discretionary bonus. Actual compensation depends on geographic location, skills, experience, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Design, engineer, and plan implementation of enterprise network solutions across data centers, cloud connectivity, WAN, SD-WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, voice, internet, extranet, DDI, load balancing, and firewall integration.
• Translate business, application, security, compliance, risk, audit, and operational requirements into resilient, scalable, supportable, and cost-effective network designs.
• Create design packages, reference architectures, scopes of work, implementation plans, risk reviews, rollback assessments, and operational handoff documentation.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues using packet and flow analysis, telemetry, monitoring dashboards, fault-domain isolation, root-cause analysis, and NetScout.
• Lead design reviews, implementation planning, testing, cutover coordination, operational acceptance, and post-implementation validation for technical delivery teams.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor team members, coordinate cross-functional and vendor teams, and improve network reliability, automation, capacity planning, and cost optimization.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience designing, engineering, deploying, or supporting enterprise and global network solutions.
• 5+ years as a senior network design engineer, lead network engineer, solution engineer, or technical lead responsible for complex infrastructure design and delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, network engineering, or equivalent enterprise network experience.
• Strong expertise in routing, switching, BGP, DDI, segmentation, high availability, resiliency, ZTNA, wireless networking, SDN, and enterprise network fabrics.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco ACI, Arista, Aruba, Meraki, Juniper, Alkira, Equinix, Megaport, F5, Palo Alto, Netskope, and related network platforms.
• Experience with Python, NetBrain, NetScout, OpenText Network Automation, AppViewX, Spectrum, Cloud Vision, Aruba Central, scripting, API-based workflows, and configuration templates.

Nice to have

• Advanced certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, Aruba, Arista, Juniper, or cloud networking credentials.
• Financial-services or other regulated-industry experience.
