Senior Network Design Engineer (Financial Services)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; hybrid work with regular office presence. Estimated travel may be up to 25%. Relocation is not provided.

What you will do

• Design and engineer enterprise network solutions across data centers, cloud connectivity, WAN, SD-WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, voice, internet, extranet, DDI, load balancing, and firewall integration.
• Translate business, application, security, compliance, risk, audit, and operational requirements into resilient, scalable, supportable, and cost-effective network designs.
• Create design packages, reference architectures, scopes of work, implementation plans, rollback assessments, change-readiness materials, and operational handoff documentation.
• Investigate and resolve complex network issues using packet and flow analysis, telemetry, monitoring dashboards, fault-domain isolation, root-cause analysis, and NetScout.
• Lead design reviews, implementation planning, testing, cutover coordination, operational acceptance, and post-implementation validation for technical delivery teams.
• Partner with architecture, operations, security, cloud, application, managed services, vendor, and business teams while mentoring engineers and driving continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, network engineering, or equivalent enterprise network experience.
• 10+ years of experience designing, engineering, deploying, or supporting enterprise and global network solutions.
• 5+ years in a senior network design engineer, lead network engineer, solution engineer, or technical lead role involving design execution and complex infrastructure delivery.
• Hands-on expertise with software-defined networking, enterprise network fabrics, policy-based networking, template-driven configuration, and platforms including Cisco ACI, Arista, Aruba, Meraki, Juniper, Alkira, Equinix, and Megaport.
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, BGP, DDI, segmentation, high availability, resiliency, ZTNA, wireless networking, SD-WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, VoIP, NAC, firewalls, and load balancing.
• Experience with network automation and operational tooling, including Python, NetBrain, NetScout, OpenText Network Automation, AppViewX, Cloud Vision, Aruba Central, scripting, APIs, and templates.

Nice to have

• Advanced networking certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, Aruba, Arista, Juniper, or cloud networking credentials.
• Financial-services or other regulated-industry experience.
• Experience with F5 LTM/GTM, Palo Alto firewalls, WAF, DDoS protection, ClearPass, Netskope, and cloud proxy platforms.
