TL;DR
Aerospace Test Technician II/III (Space Systems): Performing environmental testing and maintenance of aerospace mechanisms, separation systems, on-orbit devices, and other electromechanical deployables with an accent on thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, static-load, and separation testing. Focus on operating test fixtures and data acquisition systems, inspecting hardware, maintaining equipment, and supporting non-conformance investigations.

Location: Silver Spring, Maryland, United States; onsite at hirify.global's facility

Base pay: $23–$32 per hour

What you will do

  • Perform environmental testing of aerospace mechanisms using established procedures, including static load, thermal vacuum, benchtop operation, separation, shock, and vibration tests.
  • Operate spaceflight hardware and test fixtures with data acquisition systems.
  • Attach and remove components from spaceflight hardware and inspect mechanical and electrical components after testing.
  • Maintain test fixtures and identify potential process improvements.
  • Support non-conformance investigations and collaborate on challenging spaceflight hardware projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 2 years of aerospace environmental testing experience for Technician II, or 5 years for Technician III.
  • Basic understanding of electronic circuitry.
  • Must meet applicable US ITAR eligibility requirements for work in US offices, including US citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylum status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.
  • Ability to work onsite, stand and walk for 8 or more hours, climb ladders, work at heights and in tight spaces, and handle equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work in production, equipment, and field environments with noise, temperature variations, moving machinery, extended hours, weekends, and varied shifts as needed.

Nice to have

  • Associate or bachelor's degree.
  • 8 or more years of aerospace environmental testing experience.
  • Proficiency with electronic circuitry.
