NDT Inspector / Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. Applicants must be U.S. Persons under ITAR and EAR requirements and must be eligible to obtain required export authorizations.

Base salary: $33–$48 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and location.

What you will do

• Manage NDT operations and serve as the technical authority for assigned NDT methods.
• Perform radiographic, visual, liquid penetrant, and ultrasonic testing inspections.
• Conduct welding inspections against AWS, ASME, API, and customer specifications.
• Prepare and approve NDT procedures, work instructions, inspection reports, and records.
• Train, qualify, certify, and support the professional development of inspection personnel.
• Review welding qualification records, identify weld and dimensional defects, recommend corrective actions, and support audits.

Requirements

• Level II RT certification under ASNT SNT-TC-1A or NAS-410.
• At least 3 years of experience in welding inspection and NDT.
• High school diploma or technical degree in welding, mechanical engineering technology, or a related field.
• Experience with ASME Sections V, VIII, and IX, API 1104, API 650, or AWS D17.1.
• Ability to work onsite in Pittsburgh and meet U.S. Person and export-control eligibility requirements.
• Ability to work alternate shifts, weekends, and additional hours as required.

Nice to have

• Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification.
• Current ASNT NDT Level III certification in radiographic testing.
• Knowledge of orbital tube welding processes.
