Software Engineer – Full Stack Java

Location: Dearborn, Michigan; hybrid schedule with 4 days per week in the office and 1 day per week working from home. Candidates must be located near the Metro Detroit area and able to commute to the office by the start date. Standard hours are 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, 40 hours per week. Fully remote work is not available.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack software applications throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Build and maintain backend applications, APIs, and microservices using Java and server-side technologies.
• Create user-friendly interactive interfaces and collaborate with product owners, designers, architects, and customers.
• Assess requirements, select technology stacks, define integration methods, and create high-level software designs.
• Define testing strategies and apply test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery practices.
• Optimize application performance and support security measures such as encryption and data anonymization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience developing full-stack applications.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, Angular, APIs, and GCP, including setting up and managing GCP environments.
• Experience managing Tekton Pipelines and implementing CI/CD practices.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL, application testing, API development, and rigorous quality-focused software testing.
• Experience with JIRA or Rally and Agile practices.
• Must be located near Metro Detroit and able to work in the Dearborn office 4 days per week.

Nice to have

• Automation testing experience with Selenium or Playwright.
• Experience with FOSSA, Cycode, Splunk, or Dynatrace.
• Experience using AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot and LLMs.
• Experience with React, COBOL, JCL, or mainframe systems.
