Software Engineer II (Java)

Location: Hybrid, three days per week in Cincinnati, Ohio; candidates must be US citizens or valid Green Card holders.

What you will do

• Deliver new features, services, and product enhancements for the Portal team.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable responsive web applications across devices and platforms.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring technologies.
• Collaborate with Product, Development, QA, and cross-functional teams to implement requirements and improve usability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across development, testing, and production environments.
• Coordinate solution design, implementation, releases, CI/CD, automation, and AI-assisted development practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Angular, React, or Ionic.
• 5+ years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
• Experience with Agile or SAFe, Scrum, CI/CD, TDD, BDD, DevOps, automation, Git, Jenkins, SonarQube, Nexus, and Maven.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, complex SQL, and relational databases such as Snowflake, DB2, or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Must be a US Citizen or valid Green Card Holder; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future. Must work onsite in the Cincinnati office three days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka, data streaming, data messaging, and event-driven systems.
