Senior Product Designer (Fintech)

Location: Remote from Montreal, Quebec, or Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Base salary: $125,000–$148,000 CAD per year for roles based in or eligible to work from Ontario

What you will do

• Own a product area across multiple releases and contribute components, prototypes, or tooling that other designers rely on.
• Build working prototypes with real components and data to test concepts and align product and engineering.
• Select and synthesize research, define success measures, and change direction when results do not support the design.
• Define quality standards for error and empty states, responsive behavior, WCAG 2.0 AA accessibility, and consistent patterns.
• Present contested recommendations to senior stakeholders and communicate the evidence behind decisions.
• Raise design standards through open reviews, mentoring, and hands-on collaboration.

Requirements

• Experience owning a product area across multiple releases, supported by a portfolio showing product judgment and outcomes.
• Strong depth in UX and visual design, with a clear area of exceptional expertise.
• Experience building with AI and shipping tools or solutions that others rely on.
• Ability to prototype in code or with AI tools and understand how components, data, and implementation cost affect design.
• Confidence designing for dense data, permissions, regulated environments, and information-heavy screens.
• Ability to challenge decisions openly, use evidence, and change direction when needed.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, wealth management, or another regulated domain.
• Experience taking a product from zero to one.
• Experience building a design system or a significant part of one.
• Front-end development or design engineering experience.
